I have Office Professional 2003. It contains Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Publisher. I am NOT familiar with Access and Publisher since I really haven't been used them. But I like Word, Excel and Outlook very much. For 2003 editions, Microsoft has made everything look a little sleeker. Also, they added nice touches here and there. For example, when Outlook is open, a little notification will pop up whenever mail arrive (no matter what application is currently displayed). The notification shows the sender and subject and a few words of the message. You can chose to ignore it and goes away, or you can click it to go to the message. There are a lot of little things like that that make 2003 different from the previous editions. But the basic functionality is the same. If you have Office XP or 2000, do you need to upgarde - I would say not unless you're looking for something in particular. I was happy using Office 2000 and don't see a huge reason to upgrade. But if you are looking for an initial Office suite, Microsoft Office 2003 is the way go. I would definitely recommend Microsoft Office 2003.

Strengths: Great Product, seems to work just as good as all of the previous versions of office by Microsoft.

This product is one of the best bangs for the buck. Although this office suite is expensive to buy full product, it is still less expensive than buying the professional version and it includes all of the stuff you would normally need and the price differential between the retail and OEM full product is not that much. This product is one of the best bangs for the buck. Although this office suite is expensive to buy full product, it is still less expensive than buying the professional version and it includes all of the stuff you would normally need and the price differential between the retail and OEM full product is not that much. One recommendation is to update your office suite to Service Pack 1 on the Microsoft website separate from Service Pack 1 and 2 for Windows XP.

This is a very nice product and user friendly. However, I don't understand the "need to activate" this product after so many days of usage. Isn't the fact that I have already paid for the product that I should get the "full" product without having to worry about "activation?" This is a very nice product and user friendly. However, I don't understand the "need to activate" this product after so many days of usage. Isn't the fact that I have already paid for the product that I should get the "full" product without having to worry about "activation?" Also the booklet that came with the product is really lacking in the details that I want to look up to answer questions. I thought that when I asked for an instruction booklet, I would have liked to have received a booklet that was more comprehensive. Other that that, the product is great!
