Expression Web 1.0 Upgrade
Strengths: CSS Tools. Great UI. Easy to learn. Many advance features.
Weakness: Crashes often.
Many improvements over FrontPage. Easy to learn for the basic user but many advance features for the professional Web designer. The CSS tools are great!!!
MS is still working out some bugs. This version has crashed a few times. Save OFTEN!!!

Expression Web
Strengths: Cleaner to use than FrontPage
Weakness: Not enough internal support for ASP.NET user built controls
We have been looking to use SalesCart to add an ecommerce shopping cart to our website and it works with Expression Web. We tried Expression and found it to be a huge improvement over FrontPage. Its much cleaner and easier to use and doesn't put so much extra html in your code.

MS Expression web
Strengths: none
Weakness: crashes, very slow performance
Performance is very slow (like Dreamweaver) and it crashes a dozen times a day. Like many critics say, typically MS: Like Vista, lipstick for crocodiles. No News (e.g. Menu-creation like in DW)

Microsoft Expression Web 1
Microsoft has finally released a Web editor that can compete toe-to-toe with Dreamweaver. While many people compare this product with FrontPage, I feel that's doing it a disservice. Expression Web is a professional Web design tool and if you feel you can't afford Dreamweaver or need to stick with Microsoft products, then you won't go wrong with Expression Web.
