Fully Featured Adobe Professional Alternative

Strengths: Fully featured PDF software package: create, edit, convert, combine, insert pages, delete pages, create fill-in forms, comment, and security.

Weakness: Minor: 1) Open / insert file dialog boxes cannot be maximized; 2) File thumbnails are not shown when viewing folders; and 3) Cannot print directly to PDF from browser (PrtScr & paste to Nitro PDF)

I have used Adobe Professional in the past through my employer and wanted the same PDF functionality at home, but I did not want to spend $400 for it. I tested a few different PDF products / applications for trial periods and the only one I found that was fully-featured was Nitro PDF. I highly recommend it.

Weakness: Horrible view of PDFs

I installed Nitro's trial version, what a horrible mistake. This program converted all of my existing PDF files to their format. After I uninstalled and restored my system to a day before, low and behold all the PDF files where in a format in which I now have to tell my computer how to open them. Nitro PDF Professional

Strengths: quick, price, convenient, works with Microsoft

Weakness: Instructions could be better

I wanted something to convert word documents. I like using PDF format whenever I can. You can also flip back to word. Fill in applications, forms. Edit and make secure. It does much more with graphics and spreadsheets that I don't use. I picked it up at Frys for $50 and had a rebate. That's a lot less the Adobe's Acrobat.

Strengths: Fully featured PDF creation equivalent to Adobe Acrobat standard; more advanced automated document bates stamping and assembly; comes with a free copy of ARTS PDF Workshop.

Weakness: Could not be installed on Windows 64-bit CP or Vista.

Cheap... Effective to a greater extend

Strengths: Vista Compatible,Optimizer, Smooth Installation, Good price for the features offered when compared to Adobe

Weakness: Not as good as adobe

If you are looking for a PDF editor in 50-100 dollar budget, then go for it. I had issues with couple of visio documents, but I think it was due to the size of the document that I was trying to convert. But I never had issues with my word documents or image files in getting converted to pdf with this software. It has got a good user interface and the most amazing thing that I found in this tool...
