Taxes are never supposed to be easy on us, but with efile and taxcut software it sure is less painful now. I finished my taxes in about 20 minutes and unlike before I didnt even need to file an extension!!

Strengths: User friendly.

Weakness: Light on the help side for understanding if you qualify for some deductions or not.

Taxcut Deluxe is an overall very good tax software. I have been using it for the past 3 years and always get my taxes done in a matter of a couple hours, get my refund in about 10 days (direct deposit). It works great, but you always have the feeling that you have missed a deduction somewhere and it does not help you figure out where.

Strengths: Less expensive than TurboTax

Weakness: None so far

I've used TaxCut Deluxe for the last several years and have not had any issues using it. It is a very intuitive product and simple to use. I've used Turbotax before and this product is very comparable, except it's cheaper!! If you like to do your own taxes, but hate filling out all those forms, then this is the way to go. With the rebates offered for the product, how can you go wrong?

Weakness: Not suitable for complex situations. Hard to find information. Poor user interface.

I picked this up because it was practically free after all the rebates and I had used this last year. I had a good experience with it the previous year because my taxes were very simple. This application is really not made for complex tax situations. Once you need something beyond the simple "wizard" interface, things become very confusing. It's comparable to filling out forms by hand.

Strengths: user friendly

Weakness: none so far

This is also the first time i try to do tax on my own. I was recommended by my friend to use this software, and it proved to me a nice product. It is easy to install and with instructive interface.Plus its accurate calculation and error checks feature,I got my job done less than 1 hour.Overall, i like this product.

It's no use for me. Have tried to use it once but it could not handle a little more complicated situation. All it can do is basic calculations. Too simple. Should add more features and options for more effective functioning.

Have both TaxCut Deluxe 2005 and TurboTax Deluxe 2005. They have pretty same base functions and do those simple calculations. It could not fully satisfy me, either. But ok product.
