My 2 cents....
Strengths:  Great concept that lasted for ages, great improvement in game rules and graphics.
Weaknesses:  49.99 MSRP, still has some game rules in need of adjustment, the game game concept hasn't advanced too much.
Review:  I played the original Civ for years -- never tried Civ 2 or 3. The game is well made and if seems to offer hours of fun. The modability of the rules and overall game play seems to be quite addictive despite the old concept. As of now the "SDK" isn't yet available. There are still some gripes despite the improvements. Interesting, but not quite fun enough (for me)
Strengths:  Strong focus on skirmishes, huge scale, plenty of replayability, runs fine with maximum settings at 1680x1050 on my high-endish computer
Weaknesses:  Slow gameplay, obnoxious pirates, uninspiring factions and lack of variety between them, ships and ship combat can be unsatisfying

Strengths:  Highly interactive environment, great game play, beautiful graphics, seemingly endless quests. Very open ended game leaves alot to the player's ...
Weaknesses:  After about 1000 dungeons, new places even start to look familiar.
