Description
A mysterious paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, taking hostages but issuing no demands. A Special Forces team is sent in by the government to contain the situation, but contact is severed as an eerie signal interrupts radio communications. When the interference subsides moments later, the team has been obliterated. Live footage of the massacre shows an inexplicable wave of destruction tearing the soldiers apart before they can even react. In light of the desperate situation the F.E.A.R. team is assembled. As part of this elite classified strike team created to deal with the most unusual and shocking of threats your mission is simple: Eliminate the intruders at any cost. Determine the origin of the signal. And contain this crisis before it spirals out of control.

Software Name: F.E.A.R. - Extraction Point Expansion Pack
Software Main Type: Game
Strengths: Same great graphics and gameplay. More varied environments. New weapons and enemies.
Weakness: Higher difficulty level.
F.E.A.R. Extraction Point is the follow-up expansion pack to the first F.E.A.R. game. While not as long as the previous game, it feels like a better experience overall. The first F.E.A.R. was a blast to play thanks to the impressive artificial intelligence of the enemies and the overall creepy atmosphere. The main complaint people had with it was the overall repetitive gameplay coupled with the...
Strengths: Graphics, game play, price.
Weakness: Short time wise, no storyline.
F.E.A.R. is one of my favorite FPS games. I knew an expansion pack was out there and found this in the closeout bin, so I thought I'd give it a spin. It has the same game play and stellar graphics as the original. I was waiting for the story to unfold, but it really never did. It's an enjoyable game and I would recommended it if you liked the first installment. Still creepy as ever!
Strengths: great atmosphere, truly scary at some points, same incredible gun fights as the original game.
Weakness: requires the original game to play, only adds about 5-7 hours of game play, locations are exactly like the original game.
If you liked the first F.E.A.R game, you will love this expansion pack. Mostly because it looks exactly like the first game, fighting your way through more office buildings warehouses. However it's the game play itself that is still as satisfying as ever. The A.I is amazingly smart and will make for some thrilling shooting sequences. A few new guns have been added, and a couple of new enemies as...
Strengths: Graphics, Gameplay
Weakness: Storyline
More of the same great gameplay, graphics and visual effects make Extraction Point an expansion pack worthy of your hard earned dollars. My only real complaint is the lack of definite advancement to the storyline. You get a few glimpses of Ulma in certain scenarios, but it seems as though they were an afterthought. Supposedly a F.E.A.R 2 is in the works.
Strengths: more creepy F.E.A.R. fun
Weakness: not much of a story
In this expansion to F.E.A.R., you continue to play as a "special" First Encounter Assault Recon member. Special because you can slow time for brief periods (actually you're just super fast so everyone else looks like they are moving in slow motion. The expansion is a little light on the story. The escape helicopter that you boarded at the end of the original game crashes and you survive and must...

It's creepy, it's filled with action, and… wait, is there anything new here?

When Half-Life 2: Episode One released last summer, the idea of added content or expansions (albeit in the form of “episodic content” that doesn’t require the original game, etc.) was dramatically shifted. No longer is the focus “more weapons and exotic locations,” but great story elements that pull you in to discover what happened to your characters after the events of the original...

Since F.E.A.R. was one of the best shooters to come out in recent PC history, its expansion, Extraction Point, was an eagerly awaited release. From the bits we got to play for preview, the game offered up some new weaponry and bits of storyline and seemed like it could make for a really good expansion. After shooting our way though, Extraction Point didn't manage to clamber up to the lofty status...

Great follow up game
Strengths: More of the orginal
Weakness: None so far
The game follows the originals style of being dark and a bit creepy. I would say the only downside so far is that the designers were concentrating on the fighting instead of a great new story line but hey I didn't finish the game yet so I could still be impressed.
