Play any of seven unique races, striving for control over planet Kronus, a world on the edge of the Imperium that has recently fallen under the rule of the Tau Empire. Witness the ancient Necrons awakening from the depths of the planet to renew their mission to exterminate all life in the galaxy and harvest its remains. Strengths: Awesome expansion.
Weakness: None.
Dark Crusade is an expansion game to the Dawn of War series, but you do not need the original game to play Dark Crusade. Dark Crusade adds two additional, playable races to the game and another campaign. If you enjoyed the Dawn of War game (and its first expansion Winter Assault), you'll love this one.
Strengths: Two new races, stand alone expansion with all 7 races playable singleplayer, neat campaign
Weakness: Campaign is a bit flawed
Dark Crusade is the stand alone expansion to the RTS game Dawn of War and it is beyond a doubt one of my favorite RTS games ever made. Letting you play as 7 races from the Warhammer 40,000 universe (Space marine, imperial guard, ork, eldar, chaos, tau and necron) you can take over the planet of Kronus in a turn based world map similar to the game Rise of Nations. As you conquer provinces on the...
Strengths: Looks and plays great. Fast and furious RTS gameply. Don't need the original game to play.
Weakness: None
Dark crusade is an excellent addition to the Dawn of War game. What's nice is it's both an original game and an add-on. You don't need the first game and expansion to play Darc Crusade. But if you have those two, then you get much more playability by having all the factions available. The game has a great stand alone and multiplayer component. It's an excellent RTS and highly recommended.
This is a new expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.Added from www.gamespot.com ... PROS: (1) Lots of cool & unique factions. (2) Great graphics even 3 years after its release. (3) Solid, well balanced RTS experience. (4) Ability to create custom color schemes for factions. (5) Robust multiplayer with A LOT of maps. ... CONS: (1) Enemy AI is downright dumb and lethargic on lower difficulty...

When Dawn of War released for the PC a few years back I officially hung up my paintbrush. The instant gratification of being able to build a digital Warhammer 40K army in minutes versus the months of gluing and painting was enough to make me forsake the miniatures world for good. While it captured the tabletop game quite well it was still missing some of my favorite factions and the linear story...

An impressive add-on to the original game. . .
Strengths: Two new races, new single player campaign, new multiplayer maps, previous games/expansions in series not required, all of this on one DVD
Weakness: Only two new races, some race imbalances, leaves out much from the table top game series
The original Dawn of War PC game brought much of the excitement of the table top series to the PC in an interesting real-time strategy format, and the later Winter Assault expansion introduced some new maps and the Imperial Guard race. Now Dark Crusade expands the single and multiplayer components further with the Necrons and Tau Empire races. For newcomers, Dark Crusade conveniently includes the...
